HEALTH-CONSCIOUS HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL: into bio-hacking for optimal well-being, clean-eating, exercise, meditation, being in nature & sunshine! I value kindness, integrity, education, & emotional intelligence above all else. My career and a less than ideal relationship got in the way of having a child before now. Anyway, I had a fertility MOT and everything is as it should be. You may be interested to know that my Scottish mum was born when her mum was in her mid 40s, and my gran was born when her mum was in her late 40s. Likewise, my dad's mum had her last child in her late 40s.
Lifelong non-smoker; tee-total; and buy organic food. May sound boring, but I get my kicks elsewhere! I’d hope we could talk with ease about arrangements. Main concern is that any child has contact with its father. That said, I’m prepared to sacrifice my medical career to do the bulk of child-rearing; meaning you still get to pursue yours. Having come out of a long-term relationship I'm very sure what my priority now is. If it’s also your priority then we should talk. I know that anything else depends on how well we hit it off. Hopefully you’ll see that I'm affable, responsible, kind, and sensible. I come from a large family, and we keep in close contact with our diverse and even larger ‘extended’ family.
My natural instinct is to embark on this journey with a gay guy/couple. My two besties are gay & I guess I feel more reassured that you’d be doing it for the right reasons (had some dodgy messages from straight guys whose intentions aren’t entirely clear - suffice to say I’m not into NI & anticipate it’ll be IVF). I cannot imagine what it’s like not being able to fulfil my heart's desire because of a quirk of biology, and so if it means relying on the generosity of strangers then I’m willing to be that stranger in your life. I might consider a straight guy if I was convinced of his intentions. Being flexible & open are traits I admire in others, so try to practice them myself.
I'm highly educated & guess I’d prefer similar in a donor co-parent. If you’re willing to give me a chance, I'm willing to give you a chance at creating something very precious to us both/ all. You’ll have the best version of me for motherhood. I’ve been preparing my body pre-conceptually as I've studied epi-genetics and know it’s key to optimising our baby's health & behaviour (I've also had my full genome mapped & I'm pleased to report that I possess the longevity genes). As it would involve a Dr, there’ll be costs. If you want to contribute that’d be helpful but as I'm going to pursue this in any case, it isn't essential.
Whilst still needing to pay bills, I’m willing to reduce my working commitments if necessary in the lead up to IVF. I want to pursue parenthood with as little stress as possible (benefits the baby!) & I know any method not involving NI will necessitate clinic visits, sometimes at short notice. If you’re going to be pursuing your career(s) and live further afield I’ll aim to share travel so that our child gets consistency of contact until it's old enough to travel alone. But understand that I currently live in central London - an amazingly child friendly city with some fantastic schools. Having just joined CoParentMatch I'd initially been focusing my search here, but then thought “why restrict my search when this site has worldwide reach, with all the potential opportunities that affords?” New York for instance is quicker to get to than the Scottish islands where my extended family live! And think of the opportunities this international reach has for a child's future outlook: a British education is second to none in my opinion; and the Land of the Free has amazing opportunities in the fields of sports, business, science & technology - opening up a myriad of the best career avenues for our off-spring.
