Hi. I am a sperm donor available in the Ottawa area, willing to travel for most of Ontario, western Quebec, or northeastern US. Though I'm a little out of shape at the moment, I am healthy and of average strong build, and exercise regularly (jogging, walking, aerobics, hiking). I am a friendly, honest, creative and well-tempered individual. I am 36, have been a seasonal outdoor labourer for most of my life, due mostly to my consuming passion for personal writing (poetry, fiction, essays, philosophy) and music (guitar) which has kept me from pursuing a fulltime career. But I am of a university level intelligence and capability (I just don't have a PhD, which seems implicitly to be the prime "requirement" for the legal sperm banks!). It is in the regard of my writing and music that I am seeking to become a donor. Although I am of the nature and maturity that I really would like to be married and become a father of my own children, I feel that I would have to give up my writing and music almost entirely in order to properly attend to the needs of my wife and family. I just don't know if I can, in my last two year relationship with a partner it did get in the way, I wasn't willing to give my writing up to be there fully for her practical and emotional needs. As well, I feel I need to go back to university or college to attain a more reliable and adequately paying career. It isn't completely out of reach, but in all likelihood it would probably take at least five or six years to get established upon such path, and to find a suitable wife - I would be getting a little too old to have kids by the time I got settled down. It is of my personal beliefs to contribute positively to humanity - I'm not too sure if my writings will ever help others, but if it is possible to at least help the human genome along, and help a loving caring couple who wish to become parents, then I would gladly volunteer.
On the negative side, I have lived an occasional rock n roll kind of lifestyle in my teens, twenties and early thirties. I did drink heavily in my youth, and have done most kinds of drugs - although never in an addiction-level proportion, but likely often enough that my full bodily potential has been stunted slightly by it. Actually the most unhealthy aspect of my lifestyle is my writing - it puts me onto bad, irregular eating and sleeping schedules. I rarely do any kind of drug now, and drink seldom. But if I were to enter into an agreement with you I would guarantee not to drink or do any drug for at least six months before the donation, I would eat nothing but non-processed whole foods, I would remain sexually abstinent and I would exercise my belly off! I'm not entirely sure if my parents or myself carry any genetic disease. My parents seem to be okay, although my mother is blind and suffers from arthritis. My mom's mother was an alcoholic and perhaps a little unhealthy. My father's mother was super strong and lived to one hundred. Both grandfathers were of average health. If needs be I would accept a medical exam and use a gene-identifying service such as 23andme. I have acquired 2 STIs (a small ongoing case of candida and miniscule case of genital warts). Although I have treated both conditions, and they are not visibly present, there cannot be any guarantee that the conditions have internally left my system by the time of donation. I am not certain if this affects my genetic health, but in such regard it would be best that I only be donating via AI.
I am only willing to donate to legally married couples, where I will NOT be the legally responsible guardian for the child. Any ethnicity or religion. I would require that you are reasonably employed (+ $50,000/year household income) with a good home situation.
