Other Info:
We're a married lesbian couple in Melbourne seeking a sperm donor to help us become parents. We think one child would be just right for us! We'd be totally happy with anything from no contact unless the child wants to meet you, all the way up to an 'uncle' or 'family friend' type (that is, the child is aware of your status as the donor once they're old enough to understand, and know who you are), but whatever we agree on you will not have any parental rights or obligations. We'd love to chat and decide what kind of contact level suits everyone best.
We already have eggs frozen - all we need is a little help from a wonderful guy willing to go through the IVF process with us!
A little about us individually:
Hi! I'm Allie. I work with children with autism who need one-on-one support and care. I was born in the US, but I moved out to Melbourne for uni back in 2006 and now I'm a permanent resident. I've always wanted to be a mom, and working in childcare hasn't changed my mind at all! In my spare time, I love reading, catching up on TV shows and documentaries, surfing the net, exploring the city, and collaborative writing. I'm a Reform Jew, which means that I believe more in the guiding principles of the Torah (the old testament) rather than it being a by-the-letter instruction manual on what to do, and that life should be filled with happiness and kindness and respect. It also means I celebrate a lot of holidays- not just the Jewish ones, but also more secularised versions of Christmas and Easter (not to mention the American favourites of Halloween and Thanksgiving!)
I'm Bri, and I'm the stay-at-home house spouse due to disability following a workplace accident. I'm also the cuddly one who will sit very still for a long time because a cat's asleep on my lap. I am a vegetarian and an atheist - and since Allie's both Jewish and carnivorous, you can probably tell that we're fantastic at compromising! I love the theatre, reading and writing, and animals of all shapes and sizes (especially cats - we have two). At heart I am a homebody, and enjoy staying in snuggled up with a good book, a warm blanket, the kitties, and my girl. I've always wanted kids, and am very much looking forward to the day we discover we're pregnant.
