My husband and I have recently decided to split, because he no longer wants to have children. Instead of rushing into a new relationship so that I can fulfill my dream of being a mother, I have decided that I would like to find the right single man (straight or gay), or gay couple to co-parent with. I have an interesting and fulfilling career in higher education, but family, interpersonal relationships and personal self-growth are my highest values (above career). While I am sure that I will continue to have a successful and fulfilling career, I would put being a mother first in my life. I would also describe myself as a very stable person. I take great care of myself spiritually, physically and emotionally, and am very easy to get along with. I grew up in a blended family. My parents split when I was five and both re-married. They all chose to stay in the same city until I graduated high school so that they could equally share in raising me. All four of my parents have been extremely mature in how they interact with one another. To this day, we still will all sometimes spend the holidays together. Last year all four of my parents were together for Thanksgiving. And my mom and stepdad often come to my step-mother's family's Christmas Eve celebration, which they have been coming to since I was 8 years old. So, I have grown up understanding what co-parenting is, and I honestly believe I had it better than most children did, because I have several parents who love and care about me. I have a different relationship with each of them, but I have a beautiful relationship with all of them. I would also describe myself as very liberal and very spiritual (non-religious), and I am an open person who respects other people's view points and lifestyles. I also grew up in a very diverse environment and continue to be involved in activities that bring me in contact with people from a diverse array of backgrounds. This is an important part of my life and a strong value that I hold. Finally, I am deeply involved in the arts (dance in particular). I am athletic and in great shape! :)
