Other Info: Woman in her late 30s seeking a donor ideally of Cuban background. Husband is Cuban but sadly is sterile from some type of genetic deletions. We have tried everything including a very expensive (12k!) sperm retrieval surgery that was ineffective. The irony is my husband is amazing with children and so incredibly deserving and capable of being an incredible father. His own father was murdered when he was only 17 but had abandoned the family when he was just 8 years old. At a very young age he assumed the role of the man of the house and despite facing overwhelming obstacles like being raised in Communist Cuba, facing extreme poverty and needing to endlessly find creative financial solutions to keep them fed, barely clothed and under a roof of some kind with his Mother (who had him at 16) and his younger sister who also became an un wed teenage mother to an autistic child at the age of 18. For several years and at various points in their journey to find stability, the 4 of them shared one mattress and often 1 room, and never had a place of their own. Finding means to improve himself and increase his ability to pull in income for his family had been his motivation for putting himself through college to become a physical
therapist. He did so by enrolling in the military after high school, because though college was gpvernment paid, he did not have enough income to buy the necessary school supplies or even own appropriate clothing and shoes to wear to class. While working in Venezuela for the Cuban government, in a healthcaare contract, he was fortunate enough to become eligible for a Visa to move to the United States legally and permanently through the Cuban Medical Professional Parole (CMPP) program but it came with a hefty penalty-Cuba would punish him for not fulfilling his work contract by not allowing him to return to Cuba to visit his family for 8 long years. He arrived here in 2016 with nothing, just the clothes on his back and the sponsorship through church world organization. Today he owns a large single family home, has built and rented 2 apartments, owns 3 cars and has built better credit than his American wife-me- ever thought was possible. Still, despite having achieved so muxh so quickly, what he wants and deserves most is just put of reach- we learned through that costly surgery that he would never biologically be able to father his own children. We tried IUI through a donor sperm bank online without success and are now facing the dauntingly expensive option of IVF. The problem is finding a donor to match my husband's appearance and heritage. He obviously is Cuban but light skin with brown ethnic coarse , even kinky in some areas hair texture, brown eyes and he is very short 5'3" and I am 5'2" so we are hoping for aomeone shorter than 5'9" at most.
