Other Information about me/us

Other Info: I am a 44 year-old male with no children due to not having found a partner yet, and my sibling is in the same situation. I feel like maybe I should at least try to not be a genetic dead-end. My family has fairly good longevity (grand parents lived to between 89-95), my teeth are good, etc. so it seems like a bit of a waste to not at least try to contribute that to the herd. In addition, the CBC keeps reporting on how hard it is to find sperm donors in Canada and it is something that is easy for me to provide. My research suggests that the only ART clinic in Canada that accepts donations is in Toronto, and I do not live there, so this is sort of the only easy route for providing this service.

I am willing to be contacted by the child or not depending on their desires, and the parents' desires. I really do think it prudent to retain some contact between the donor and the receiving parents to keep up to date on any health issues that develop, if only keeping contact information in our address books up to date. I am also willing to meet with the child at 18 or whatever age the parents feel appropriate to answer any questions they have.

I am also willing to be a co-parent, but that is a far more complicated topic requiring agreement on so many issues that I will cross that bridge if it comes to it. At this point I am more interested in being a genetic donor to a couple that needs it. Anyway, I figured I would put it out there that I am willing and see what the Universe brings.

To clarify the number of children count: I have donated to five couples or recipients so far, resulting in 3 pregnancies to date. One couple it only took one cycle, the other couple took 4-5 cycles. I say this in order to give a vague impression of my fertility, and what sort of timeline to expect. I have no children of my own.
