Hi there, my wife, Ash, and I are currently in search of a sperm donor, we're keeping our options open with looking into different clinics and also trying this out now. We've been planning and trying to get this in motion for going into a year very soon and just haven't found the right donor yet (or the few we found via clinics that we liked were not available anymore by the time we were ready to try). We are a lesbian couple, we've been married just short of a year, and just feel we're finally ready to take this step. I'm 22, my wife is 34, I will be the one carrying most likely every pregnancy but we are trying to find a donor that has similar qualities to both of us because sometimes we will use my eggs and sometimes we will do Reciprocal IVF to use her eggs for me to carry and would like to try to keep the same donor for any future kids (know this isn't always possible but it's ideal) as well so want to try to find someone who's similar/a good mix of the both of us.
This would be our first child, we are excited and ready to expand our family as soon as possible once we find the right donor for us and we're hoping this will be a good opportunity to get us closer to starting our family journey.
We will be doing AI. We would prefer a donor who is ok with being known, we do not expect or want a co-parent, but we do want our children to have the option to know about and have any questions or curiosities they ever have answered about the other half of their genetics). And as I mentioned earlier we would like to try to keep the same donor for any future siblings if at all possible, it's most ideal for us so if that's something you're open to that would be perfect.
Donor would have to be able to and ok with providing up-to-date STI screening results, undergoing a background check, strictly Artificial insemination, and signing a notorized contract for the agreement (no legal rights to any children conceived, and being a known donor).
