I had a baby in 2020 and currently do not plan to have another child except under exceptional circumstances. However, I ended up with a lifetime membership to this site, and I know there's so little information out there about having a baby via this path, so I figure I may as well put myself out there as a resource. I know now that I was so naive about a lot of things! Please do feel free to reach out with questions.

I'm seeking a caring, optimistic, and flexible man with a desire to be a father who lives in greater Philadelphia or New Jersey. I'm not closed to someone who lives further away, but our compatibility would have to be high.
While you don't necessarily have to want to be a full-time dad, I am looking for someone who wants a relationship with the child. What Rachel Hope describes in her book Family by Choice sounds ideal, though perhaps that's hard to attain.
I'll admit to being pretty skeptical about sperm donors--if you're set on a no-contact role and for some reason still want to reach out to me, please say why you think we should talk in your first message. Otherwise, I'm likely to assume that you just didn't read.
Given my age, natural insemination is unlikely for that reason alone, without getting into how tricky that would make things emotionally.
Some info about me:
* I currently live in New Jersey, but will probably move back to Philadelphia within 1-3 years.
* I make most of my income from marketing work, but have an MFA in poetry and an extensive background in education (I've done some teaching, but more behind the scenes). My writing will likely play a larger role in my career in the future. I currently work for myself, and though that may change, I do at the moment have a large amount of flexibility in my work situation. That may or may not be a plus to you.
* A cousin recently described me as "a free spirit," and I've definitely chosen the interesting path over the conventional one, taking the route of working for myself even though it has been a tough road. I am open-minded and have an experimental, "why not?" attitude.
* When I meet an obstacle that stands in the way of something important, I almost always stick by the philosophy that "the best way out is through." I'm patient and persistent in the face of challenge.
* I take my commitments seriously and am very reliable. Expect me to take being a mother seriously as well. (I do try to laugh at myself though. As a break before getting back to being serious ;)
* I believe in giving kids some age-appropriate, safe independence so they learn for themselves. Not sure I want to try free-range parenting, but I lean towards that rather than being overprotective. It's very important to me that I give my child the space to find and follow their own dreams, and give them the same feeling of unconditional love and support that I had.
* INFJ, for what it's worth.
* I tend to click best with those who have several paragraphs written in their profiles or who ask a good specific question or otherwise give me something to go with in the first message. I know this is awkward, but work with me here.
