Other Information about me/us

Other Info: We are a married gay couple in our 30s, originally from Venezuela and England, and now happily living together in Alicante, Spain. We have built a wonderful life together and, after many years as a couple, we feel ready to take the next big step: starting a family.

We are both active, healthy, hardworking and very family-oriented. We enjoy sports, travelling, being outdoors, discovering new places and spending time with the people we love. We both work in creative industries and are passionate about our careers, but family and the life we build outside of work are incredibly important to us.

Our home is also shared with our much-loved dog, who we jokingly (and sometimes not so jokingly!) treat as our first child. We are very caring and nurturing people, and creating a loving, stable and happy home is something that comes very naturally to us.

We are incredibly fortunate to have a large and supportive extended family in both Spain and England. We want our future children to grow up surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will love them and be an important part of their lives. We also have the stability, careers and resources to give a child a secure and exciting upbringing, full of opportunities, experiences, love and support.

Why co-parenting?

As a gay couple, our options for becoming parents are more limited than those of many other couples. Adoption is one possibility, and surrogacy is another, but surrogacy doesn’t feel right for us. We have concerns about the ethical complexities involved and the difficulty of knowing that every part of the process is completely comfortable and empowering for everyone involved.

For us, co-parenting feels like a much more natural and meaningful possibility. We love the idea that our child’s mother could be an active and important part of their life, rather than simply being someone who helps us become parents. We would hope to create a genuine extended family where everyone has a meaningful role and, most importantly, where our child grows up knowing exactly how loved they are.

We aren’t looking for someone to simply “help us have a baby.” We are looking for the right person or people with whom we can build a family together.

We are very open-minded about what that family could look like. We would be happy to explore co-parenting with a single woman, another couple, or potentially a different family arrangement, depending on the people involved and what feels right for everyone.

We also don’t believe there is one perfect formula for co-parenting. We would want to take the time to get to know each other, understand everyone’s hopes and expectations, and create an arrangement that feels fair, comfortable and positive for all of us. This could include discussing where everyone lives, how involved each parent wants to be, holidays, important decisions, time together and, of course, the many practical details that come with raising a child.

What we hope to find

Ultimately, we are looking for someone kind, open-minded, emotionally mature and family-oriented who shares our desire to give a child a loving and secure upbringing.

We want the relationship between the co-parents to be based on trust, honesty, communication and mutual respect. We would much rather take our time finding the right person and building a strong relationship than rush into an arrangement simply because we are excited to become parents.

We hope to create something where everyone feels valued and supported—not only the child, but the mother and both dads too.

We would love our future child to grow up with the experience of having a mum and two dads who genuinely care about one another and work together as a team. We imagine family dinners, birthdays, holidays, sporting events, Christmases, trips, school milestones and all the wonderfully chaotic moments that come with raising a child.

Most of all, we want to build a family based on love rather than a tradi
